Discoloration on the face, also known as sun damage or pigmented lesions, can self-consciousness for many. Not only can it be tricky to hide these lesions under makeup, it can make going makeup-free a stressful situation. The DioLite™ Laser can help to diminish this skin damage for a clearer, more even skin tone.
What is the DioLite™ Laser?
Throughout our lives, our skin is exposed to elemental factors, which can cause red facial vessels to appear. DioLite™ Laser treatments can be used to lessen the appearance of vascular and pigmented lesions on the face. It can also eliminate skin tags and sun damage on the skin.
This laser creates intense beams of light, which is absorbed by the red blood cells and melanin in the skin. This eliminates the appearance of these vascular and pigmented lesions, creating a clear, even skin tone.
Who is a Good Candidate?
Patients living with vascular or pigmented lesions of their nose, cheeks, chin, or other areas of the face can often benefit from the DioLite™ Laser. The best candidates are those with lighter skin tones. A consultation at our office can help to determine if this treatment is right for you.
The DioLite™ Laser Treatment
During treatment, most patients do not require anesthesia, however, a topical anesthetic can be applied if needed. Patients will be asked to wear treatment goggles to protect your eyes from the laser light during the procedure. Overall treatment time will vary depending on the number of areas being treated.
Following non-invasive treatment, redness may occur, which usually resolves within a few hours. Some swelling may also appear, which will lessen after 1-2 days. While there is no downtime associated with the treatment, it is recommended that patient avoid direct sunlight to the treatment areas during the healing process.
Results for treatment of vascular lesions can be seen after 10-14 days, and pigmented lesions after 2-3 weeks.
